  • Goldman Sachs increased ArcBest's price target to $172, indicating a potential upside of 21.56%.
  • ArcBest reported robust total revenue of $1.2 billion in Q2, marking a 16% increase year-over-year.

An analyst from Goldman Sachs raised the price target for ArcBest (NASDAQ: ARCB) to $172 from $165. At the time, ArcBest's stock price was $141.49, which suggests a potential upside of 21.56%. ArcBest is a leading logistics company that provides comprehensive freight transportation and integrated supply chain solutions to its customers.

This optimistic view is supported by ArcBest's recent financial performance. For its second quarter, ArcBest reported total revenue of $1.2 billion, a significant 16% increase from the $1.0 billion generated in the same quarter last year. This robust revenue growth occurred even though revenue slightly missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.79%, as highlighted by Zacks.

Profitability also saw a significant boost. The company’s adjusted earnings per share (EPS) reached $2.38, up from $1.36 a year ago. EPS, a key metric for investor analysis, represents a company's profit divided by its number of shares, showing how much it earns per share. This figure beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.30, resulting in an impressive earnings surprise of 3.48%.

ArcBest’s management credits these strong results to several factors, including stronger pricing, a heavier freight mix, and significant efficiency gains. CEO Seth Runser noted that industry capacity has tightened as truck supply leaves the market. This trend has contributed to modest volume gains for ArcBest, even as broad industrial demand has not yet fully recovered.

To further improve its financial health and operational efficiency, ArcBest announced organizational changes projected to save $40 million annually. The company also reported a non-GAAP net income of $53.6 million. Non-GAAP income, a crucial metric for understanding core business performance, excludes certain one-time items, as detailed in its Second Quarter 2026 Results announcement.
