On August 12, 2026, Citigroup restated its Outperform rating for Excelerate Energy (NYSE: EE), with the stock priced at $35.36. The company specializes in providing flexible liquefied natural gas (LNG) solutions, operating floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs). These units act as offshore terminals to deliver natural gas to markets worldwide.

The positive rating follows strong second-quarter 2026 results. Excelerate Energy reported a net income of $50.1 million and an adjusted EBITDA of $120.1 million. EBITDA, or Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization, is a key metric used to evaluate a company's operating performance without factoring in financing and accounting decisions.

This adjusted EBITDA figure represents a 12% increase from the same period last year. Chief Financial Officer Dana Armstrong attributes this growth mainly to a full quarter of contributions from the company's Jamaica platform. Excelerate Energy also reported earnings per share of $0.37, which surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.35, as highlighted by Zacks.

Looking ahead, Excelerate Energy has raised its full-year adjusted EBITDA forecast to a range between $490 million and $515 million. President and CEO Steven Kobos notes a favorable long-term market outlook as new global LNG supply requires infrastructure to reach importing countries. This supports the company's ongoing energy infrastructure projects in various regions.

Excelerate Energy continues to advance its LNG infrastructure projects in Jordan, Colombia, Iraq, and the Caribbean. As highlighted by Business Wire, Excelerate Energy also signed an agreement to redeploy its FSRU Express to a new LNG import facility. These strategic moves show the company's active pursuit of new vessel charters and integrated projects.
